Considered the best sushi chef on São Miguel, Chef Joana will impress you with her unique and exquisite approach to sushi, blending typical Azorean flavours with sustainable fish from the local waters.

Our omakase-style dinner means you put your trust in Chef Joana to handpick the freshest seasonal products to create delicious and artistic dishes. Vegetarian and vegan options are available upon request at the time of booking.

Chef Joana was born and raised on São Miguel, and has grown up around fishermen and the fish they catch from the Atlantic Ocean surrounding the island. As a young adult, she discovered her passion for using this fish to create sushi.

Located at The Solar Branco Eco Estate, Senhor Raposa’s Secret Drinking Den is an intimate space designed for up to a dozen diners (or up to 18 for a private group). You will usually be seated at the Chef’s table, sharing the experience with other diners. Our dining experiences start promptly at 7pm and all guests are served at the same time.

The €65 cost per person includes your sushi dinner, dessert and water. A range of Japanese gins, and other drinks are available at extra cost. To avoid food waste from no-shows, we take full payment at time of booking. (This is non-refundable if you cancel your booking with less than 7 days notice.) The cost of any drinks will be charged at the end of your meal.

Senhor Raposa’s Secret Drinking Den and The Solar Branco Eco Estate are strictly for adults only, and babies and children under 16 are not allowed entry.
