Wool Weaving Workshop & Almond Roast in the Algarve
Learn traditional wool weaving on a handloom in the Algarve hills

Spend a full day at a countryside farmhouse learning the traditional art of handloom weaving with wool and natural fibers from the Serra do Caldeirão. After an introduction to the local history of weaving in Castro Marim, create your own individual piece, choosing materials and colors as you go, while sharing traditional Algarve recipes and stories with your host. At midday, sit down to a slow-cooked stew of chickpeas, pumpkin, and goat, cooked over an open fire. In the afternoon, finish your handwoven piece, then wind down the day with toasted almonds and a medronho digestif by the fire as the sun sets over the hills.
