Leaving the bustle of the southern coast of the Algarve behind at Lagos we head northwards through unspoilt countryside and along the coast to our first stop – the beaches of Amado and Carrapateira which offer stunning views of the vast horizon and the unforgiving cliffs. Here you can fill your lungs with the purest air imaginable. We journey on to the ancient town of Aljezur which is marked by the brooding presence of the Moorish castle which sits atop a hill, affording spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
