Enjoy a truly unique and enriching experience that combines botany, creativity, and nature during a herbarium visit and illustration workshop set on a local aromatic farm near Évora.
Accompanied by the farm owner, you’ll explore the property, identify the plants grown on site, and learn how to responsibly harvest them. Using the collected plants, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of creating your own herbarium, gaining the knowledge needed to continue developing it in the future.
Afterwards, guided by a local artist, you’ll create a visual botanical record of the plants you collected using an illustration technique of your choice. Available techniques include cyanotype, watercolor, or stamping, allowing you to express your creativity while deepening your connection with the natural world.
By the end of the experience, you’ll take home a started herbarium along with the skills and inspiration to continue expanding it over time. This workshop is ideal for nature lovers, creative travelers, and anyone curious about plants and botanical illustration.
