Tour a Fatima mezza giornata – Processione delle Candele

On this excursion, you’ll depart with us in a private vehicle, either a car or a minivan, towards the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima to witness the Candlelight Procession during the period from April to October. We will meet at the designated meeting point in Marques de Pombal Square, at the main entrance of Eduardo VII Park, at the scheduled time, and after approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, we will reach the square of the Sanctuary, the meeting point for departure. You’ll have some free time to grab a bite to eat at the restaurants/bars nearby the Basilica or to purchase a religious item to take with you. Together, we’ll visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where we’ll find the tombs of the 3 shepherd children, visionaries who saw Our Lady in 1917, right there in Cova da Iria. Subsequently, we’ll visit the largest Catholic Sanctuary in Portugal dedicated to the Holy Trinity, and then prepare to witness the Rosary at 9:30 PM in the Apparitions Chapel. This chapel is located on the grounds of the Fatima Sanctuary. The pedestal on which the original sculpture of Our Lady of Fatima stands marks the exact spot where the small oak tree stood, where it is believed that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to the three shepherd children – Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta – on the 13th of May, June, July, September, and October 1917. During the recitation of the Rosary, there will be a procession with the original statue of the Virgin followed by the faithful holding lit candles. After the procession, we will return to Lisbon with the private vehicle.
