On this one-hour tour, we will show you the chic Chiado neighbourhood: the clothes, pastry and ice-cream shops, the old-time cafés frequented by writers and artists, Bertrand – the oldest-operating bookstore in the world – and the São Carlos National Theatre. After saying hello to Fernando Pessoa at the famous A Brasileira café and passing through Praça Luís de Camões, a meeting place for locals and foreigners, we head up the bohemian Bairro Alto to the exclusive Príncipe Real area. From there, we take a trip to the majestic building of the Portuguese Parliament, where the country’s laws are written and approved. Next, it’s time to go to São Pedro de Alcântara to admire the view: the famous hills and São Jorge Castle on the other side of the city, Lisbon Cathedral, the magnificent light of the River Tagus reflected on the rooftops, but also the tall buildings of the most modern districts. If you are not already in love with Lisbon, you will be! We still have time to visit the Glória lift, the São Roque church, the historic and romantic Largo do Carmo and the Santa Justa lift before descending to Rossio. It was a great journey in just an hour!
