Tuk Tuk Tour 2:00h Belém

We are “Sardines” and we know about the sea. So come and join us on a journey back to the Age of Discovery, when, in the 15th and 16th centuries, brave Portuguese navigators set out in search of new seas, new lands and new people. We leave the centre of Lisbon and travel along the river, with the beautiful 25 de abril bridge leading us to Belém, a once rural town on the outskirts of the city and an important seaport for overseas trade. It was from Belém that Vasco da Gama set off to discover the sea route to India. Today, the district has many attractions, including the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery (both of which have the UNESCO World Heritage designation) and the Monument to Discoveries. Also see the Palácio de Belém, the official residence of the President of the Republic, the Museu dos Coches, the Museu da Marinha, the Planetarium, the Centro Cultural de Belém and the modern Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT). We will not leave Belém without taking you to the original factory of Pastéis de Nata. It was the monks of the Jerónimos Monastery, just next door, who invented this cake that is now so famous and appreciated all over the world. You will love this 120 minutes tour.
