I would like it to be ready before summer, but my objective wasn\u2019t summer; it was, in fact, at least before Easter. We\u2019ll try to see if it\u2019s possible next year,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-innovative-regulation-and-vehicle-reduction\">Innovative regulation and vehicle reduction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal, which received initial approval in early November, is currently under public consultation and will be discussed at a municipal executive meeting by the end of the year. The main objective of the regulation is to halve the number of Tuk Tuks operating in the city, with the possibility of future adjustments if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cInitially, it will even be less than half, with the possibility of expansion if this need is verified,\u201d explained the vice president. However, the official acknowledged the complexity of the process, citing legal disputes faced by other municipalities implementing similar regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the new rules is the creation of exclusive parking spaces for Tuk Tuks, which will require a specific license to use these areas, in addition to the authorization already required. After this phase, the document will be submitted to the Municipal Assembly for discussion and potential approval, which is expected to take place by the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this initiative, the Lisbon City Council aims to improve the organization and regulation of tourist transportation in the capital, balancing tourism development with the quality of life for Lisbon\u2019s residents.
