\u201cThree regions, two countries, one heart.\u201d<\/strong> This is the powerful slogan behind a new cross-border tourism initiative that unites Alentejo<\/a><\/strong>, Center of Portugal<\/a><\/strong>, and Extremadura<\/strong> <\/a>into a single, compelling destination. Spanning contiguous regions of Portugal and Spain, this alliance aims to position itself as a must-visit cultural and nature-based escape<\/strong> for both the Iberian market<\/strong> and the broader European travel audience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This innovative partnership was formally introduced in Madrid<\/strong>, during a presentation at the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal is clear: to position the three regions as a singular destination<\/strong>, unlocking access to a potential audience of 60 million residents across Portugal and Spain<\/strong>. By aligning their promotional efforts, the regions aim to boost competitiveness and enhance visibility across peak and low seasons alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jos\u00e9 Santos<\/strong>, president of the Alentejo Regional Tourism Promotion Agency, emphasized the strategic central location<\/strong> of the regions as a crucial advantage. \u201cThese territories can become a central tourism axis in the Iberian market,\u201d he stated, highlighting \u00c9vora\u2019s designation as European Capital of Culture 2027<\/strong> as a pivotal opportunity for raising the region\u2019s profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His counterpart from Center of Portugal, Rui Ventura<\/strong>, reinforced the value of cooperation: \u201cTogether, we transform from peripheral zones into a strategic center with enormous potential. Our joint approach promotes sustainable, inclusive tourism that benefits local communities.\u201d He also proposed the creation of an Iberian Wine Tourism Passport<\/strong>\u2014an innovative tool to inspire visitors to explore vineyards and wine trails across all three regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Extremadura, Victoria Bazaga<\/strong>, regional minister of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, added: \u201cWe offer our heart to grow the hearts of all.
